Gouache
Home / Gouache
From time to time, I am asked to paint a much-loved home, building, or street scene, and I’m always delighted!
In such instances, I switch to my old friend “gouache”, which is a water-soluble medium that I use very much like watercolour. I absolutely love the contrast between the structural lines in the building and the soft foliage or water nearby. A never-ending fascination for me, and I think it makes for an alluring painting.
Over the years, I’ve been asked to capture precious family homes, favourite holiday scenes, and churches/buildings where a wedding took place. Such paintings make for a wonderful gift.
If you have an idea in mind for a house portrait, please email me a photo/photos. I will need to see these before I can estimate the cost for a house portrait commission because there are so many variables. As a guide prices start at £300.
